The Empower Network dictionary

 

 

Welcome to the Empower Network Dictionary! This is considered a tool for not only Empower Network affiliates but for everyone involved in internet marketing.

Affiliate – An individual marketer involved in a company’s affiliate program. He or she will promote other people’s products for a reward. When you join Empower Network and pay the affiliate fee you will become an affiliate for Empower Network.

Affiliate Program – A marketing program in which a company awards its affiliates for selling and promoting products through the affiliate’s own efforts. Empower Network is an affiliate program.

Banner Ads – A picture ad that reflects the offer or message usually on the side of a website. You can set up banner ads by visiting the websites you want your ad to be displayed on. Just look for a link that says “advertising” and follow the directions the website has laid out for you.

Commission – The amount or percentage of money you receive for selling another person’s product. In Empower Network you receive 100% commission for your efforts. You sell the Empower Network blogging platform for $25 and you receive $25 as commission.

Contextual Advertising – A text ad that reflects the offer or message on a related website. You can set up text ads through Google and Bing.

Click Thru – How many unique visitor clicks came from a particular source (ad, banner, text, etc). This is usually shown in status reports.

CPC (Cost Per Click) – The cost you pay for each click on your banner, text, or video ad. For example, if your CPC is $0.15 per click, each time someone clicks on your ad you pay 15 cents.

CTR (Click Through Rate) – The ratio between the number of people who viewed your ad (impressions) to the number of people who actually clicked your ad. For example, if 5 people clicked your ad and you had 10 impressions, your CTR would be 50%.

CPM (Cost Per Thousand Impressions) – The cost you pay for 1,000 impressions, or the cost you pay for the thousand times your ad appears on a particular website or page.

CPV (Cost Per View) – The cost you pay for each time your ad appears on a particular website or page.

Direct Traffic – People who enter your website directly or traffic that is not from search or referral.

Impressions – People who viewed your ad. For example if you have 10,000 impressions, 10,000 unique people have viewed your ad.

Keywords – Common words people search in the search engine. Keywords are more complicated than people think. There is a lot training out there people can refer to. Empower Network is a fantastic training module for learning about keywords.

Lead – A person who entered their information into your landing page or subscribed to your mailing list. A lead can also be considered someone who is interested in what you have to offer. For example, if a visitor entered their email address into your Empower Network capture page, you may now market Empower Network to that person through email.

Pay Per Click (PPC) – A program which pays commission per click.

Pay Per Impression (PPI) – A program which pays commission per impression.

Pay Per Sale (PPS) – A program which pays commission per sale. Empower Network is PPS because they pay commission per sale.

Pay Per Lead (PPL) – A program which pays commission per lead.

Referral – A person who you refer into your business. This could or could not be a sale. For example, in Empower Network if you refer someone it means they have entered all their personal information into the sign up page.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) – Efforts done in order to bring your website or blog into a higher position in the search engines. This information is taught in the Empower Network blogging platform.

Traffic – The amount of visitors, views, or customers

Webmaster Tools – A free optimizing tool provided by Google.

WordPress – A free platform in which you can create landing pages, websites and blogs. Empower Network uses this platform for their blogs.
